How it works
From prescription to fitted equipment — handled
One local desk coordinates the prescription, paperwork, insurance documentation, delivery, fitting, and billing follow-up for New York workers’ comp and no-fault DME — so the injured patient never becomes the project manager.
The short answer
How does CityDME handle workers’ comp and no-fault DME in New York?
In six steps: your doctor writes the prescription, someone sends us the referral, and we verify the workers’ comp or no-fault claim path, chase any missing documents, then deliver, fit, and train you on the equipment. We bill the carrier where eligible and follow up on status. A prescription is always required.
The six steps
How a referral moves through the desk

Your doctor writes the prescription
Every referral starts with a prescription — it is always required. Your treating provider documents the equipment your recovery needs, whether that is a brace, a CPM machine, cold therapy, a TENS unit, or mobility equipment.
Someone submits the referral
A patient, attorney, provider, or adjuster sends the referral through the form or by phone. You pick workers’ comp or no-fault — or “not sure,” and the desk helps sort the claim path.
CityDME verifies the claim and coverage path
We review the prescription and claim details and confirm the workers’ comp or no-fault coverage pathway before fulfillment. If there is a coverage problem, we explain it up front rather than surprising you later.
CityDME coordinates the missing documents
We chase the paperwork — the prescription, claim details, and any authorizations — with your doctor, attorney, or adjuster, so you are not the one making the calls. For workers’ comp items that require prior authorization, the Board-authorized prescribing provider submits the PAR through OnBoard; we flag when one is needed and tell the office exactly what to send.
Equipment is delivered, fitted, and trained
Once the file is complete, we deliver eligible, in-stock equipment locally, fit it, and train you on how to use it. Reimbursement for scheduled DME includes delivery, setup, and the fittings and adjustments that go with it.
CityDME handles billing and status follow-up
We bill the carrier where eligible and follow up on status. $0 out of pocket where your claim applies and documentation is complete — we review the prescription and claim details before fulfillment, and we keep the right people updated.
